What better way to celebrate Independence Day than by running a race and supporting soldiers serving overseas? You’ll have that opportunity on June 29 at the Freedom Fest 10K Run/Walk and 5K Relay in Winchester, KY. This event takes place on a beautiful course, and proceeds provide care packages to active-duty U.S. military members. You have the option of submitting with your registration the name and mailing address of an active-duty service member to whom you’d like a care package sent. You may also run in honor or in memory of a U.S. military service member or veteran.
We’re excited to be promoting this race through their Facebook page and poster design. We’re also sponsoring the event, so look for the Reno Race Promotion logo on race shirts and the one-mile marker.
The Freedom Fest is a great option for those who want a 4th of July race that’s less crowded than Lexington’s Bluegrass 10,000. Then again, why not do both? Double up on 10Ks that week or bring a friend and do the FreedomFest 5K relay as a warm-up. Whatever you decide, you’re in for a fun race for a great cause on June 29.
